Deze Programmeerbare Data Processor PDP8s is de goedkopere van de PDP8, de opvolger van de PDP5 computers van het merk Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). Deze computer stond opgesteld bij Oxystaalfabriek-2 en moest de temperatuur warmte balans berekeningen uitvoeren voor de convertors in OXY-2. Er waren twee van deze computers één voor convertor-21 en één voor convertor-22. De temperatuurberekening werd gemaakt uit de hoeveelheid ruwijzer en toeslagstoffen, waar schrot en erts als koelmiddel aan werd toegevoegd. Het PDP8s systeem werd begin 1968 in gebruik gesteld door Jak, Tuk en Oostingh onder leiding van Broekhuis (RL).

If you send me a picture of the boards in the OMD8S chassis that is below the PDP-8/S chassis I can tell you what optional controllers have been installed. The OMD8S is very rare. There are two known to exist; yours and ours.
The little chassis below the OMD8S is a PT08. This the 20 mA serial port that connects to the ASR33 Teletype console.
