This site informs you about the Industrial Heritage of Hoogovens:
- the history and the development of the steel plant in IJmuiden
- the Foundation ”Stichting Industrieel Erfgoed Hoogovens” (SIEHO)
- and the efforts of the SIEHO to conserve and manage this heritage
The HoogovensMuseum shows the history of the steel company in IJmuiden. The development of the iron- and steel company is exhibited by presenting objects, old documents, photograph and film material
The museum has been established in an historical building, the old piping foundry, which is located exactly outside the company area behind the congress centre of Tata Steel. See route description.
The HoogovensMuseum is open on Tuesday and Thursday from 10.00 till 16.00 Additional opening times in 2012 can be found on opening times on this website
Visits on appointment are possible for groups, for example school classes.

Admission for the museum is € 2, – for children up to 16 years access is free
